Third week! (20/1/20 - 24/1/20)

The weeks are just flying by, and this one has definately been the most productive so far. On Monday we started posting on all of the social media platforms, some of which used to be very inactive and inconsistent, but me and Ahmed are vowing to tweet/post at least once a day. On Tuesday we had a Cortex demo (a learning management system the company produces) which was very informative and helped us regarding marketing strategies. We also had our weekly marketing meeting where we discussed next steps regarding social media, for example I set up a new Facebook account since the old one was inaccessible and I have been reposting blogs daily. We have been researching national health days and awareness weeks that will be appropriate to post about.  I have updated the internal Premier TV with slides promoting the social medias too, as well as the Winter Walk me and Ahmed are doing to raise money for the Royal Hospital of Neuro-disability, on the 8th of Feb. We designed a poster for this to ecnourage people to donate, as I type this we have raised £60 out of our £100 goal, and it can be seen on Facebook and Twitter. This week I have also created content based on cervical cancer prevention, a post promoting the internal Food Friday which is happening, a post about 2020 being the year of the nurse and midwife, and today I posted the first Friday Quiz on Twitter. I tend to post the same content on Facebook as Twitter at the moment but as our Facebook regrows the audience it once had, I will hopefully start to come up with more ideas to differentiate the content between the platforms. I have been promoting the new Twitter on the old Twitter account. On Thursday Laura came in for our apprentices intro, she gave us tips for content creation, styling and arrangement. e.g. using bit.ly to shorten links for posts, which also manages how many clicks you get. She gave us many useful documents as well as an example of a social media metrics table for tracking analytics and insights, which we have now made ourselves to update at the end of every month. We have also booked our tickets and hotel for our first trip to Crewe next week which we are thoroughly looking forward to, as well as finally signing our contracts and recieving our first payslip. We are thinking of creating showreels that can be presented to potential clients to show them who we are, what we do, and what we stand for.
See you next week!

Second week! (13/1/20 - 17/1/20)

Well, somehow I'm already at the end of my second week at Premier IT? It's been a busy one!
Me and the other apprentice had a 'catch up' session with Simon earlier in the week to discuss where we were at and what we needed to do next. This included getting the passwords to all the social medias and accounts we need including the website. With this done, we have been able to start planning what content we want to produce. I have designed a new header for the company to use on Twitter and Facebook, (possibly YouTube later on) which I have attached to this blog post. I got the oppurtunity to plan and circulate the details of a conference call between us and escalla to discuss next steps. I helped my boss add the company logo to some forms and documents, because apparently Microsoft Word is the hardest thing in the world (it isn't, I don't know what world he's living in), I've updated the internal Premier IT TV with photos from events and posters promoting future events, as the weeks go by there will be more stuff to put up.
I am responsible for creating and monitoring the content on the Premier It Twitter account for the next month. I've planned what I am going to post and at what time for the next week, to start to try and build up our audience a bit more. Currently the other apprentice, Ahmed, is working on Instagram, which has very little following and will definately be hard work. I have plans to add a 'meet the team' page onto the company website eventually with pictures of all the staff and what their role is at the company. I was also asked to create a new Facebook page because the other one is innaccessible, and I will be reuploading past blog posts onto it in the next few days to create a content backlog.
On Tuesday we had our first 'marketing meeting' and I have been assigned a number of tasks on Microsoft Teams to be getting on with outside of focusing on social media.
I have finally been added to the company payroll! Whoop whoop!
I have created content for Twitter about 2020 being the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, National Apprenticeship Week, and a picture promoting the social media accounts with the promise that they will be uploaded to daily from Monday the 20th. Every day I will retweet any relevant news articles, facts, quotes and such. Every Friday there will be a quiz using the poll feature on Twitter, I have a week to figure out what.
I am now in the middle of rewriting a bio for the company Twitter and this will also be used on Instagram, as well as setting up a conference call with the Royal Hospital for neuro-disability to discuss collaborations.
Boy it is definately getting busier every day!

First week! (7/1/20 - 10/1/20)

First week completed! Since Tuesday I have had a lot of meetings with my colleagues about their roles in the company regarding products such as Cortex, e-Learning and Job Planning, and how I as a digital marketing apprentice will be able to contribute. I've learned a lot about the history of Premier IT and escalla and been introduced to all new kinds of software such as Zoho, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Office UC, Confluence, Fast Pass and much more, those of which will become very handy as I start developing my marketing skills, and I've started to research competitors and their social media to see if theres anything successful they've been doing that we can also take up on. I have been presented with a list of tasks that I will be fulfilling from the previous marketing and communications lead, I have yet to get hold of logins for the company Twitter and Instagram accounts, I'm incredibly eager to bring them back to life as from what I've seen posting has been inconsistent. This week has been all about settling in and becoming familiar with my role, next week I will be getting my show on the road!
